Most Route of Emotions itineraries fit three landscapes into seven or eight days. The transfers are long, the excursions back-to-back, and many travellers arrive home having covered a lot of ground without having genuinely absorbed any of it.
This itinerary starts from a different premise. Fifteen days gives each place the time it actually deserves — three full days in Jericoacoara instead of the usual two; two nights in Barra Grande, a wind and kite destination that most operators skip entirely; two nights in Santo Amaro for the western lagoon circuits most travellers never reach; and two nights in Atins, a village with no road access where the only way in is by speedboat downriver.
The stargazing excursion in the dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses — a private 4x4 to the top of a dune after dark, no artificial light for 40 kilometres in any direction — is consistently what our clients describe as the moment that stays with them longest.
